Dr. Brown’s Natural Flow Bottle Newborn Feeding Set

The Dr. Brown’s Natural Flow Standard Baby Bottles offer a wonderful feeding experience with innovative vent technology. Dr Brown’s bottles use a patented 2-piece internal vent system for your baby’s comfort. This system creates positive-pressure flow for vacuum-free feeding that is similar to breastfeeding. The breast milk or formula flows freely without nipple collapse. As the baby feeds, air is channeled from the nipple collar through the vent system to the back of the bottle. Air never mixes with the breast milk or formula so oxidation is prevented, thereby maintaining essential vitamins such as C, A and E. The vent system eliminates air bubbles in the formula or milk, which helps to reduce feeding problems like colic, spit-up, burping and gas. Dr. Brown’s bottles are completely BPA, PVC, lead and phthalate free for your baby’s safety. The Newborn Feeding Set comes with 3 8oz/240ml Standard bottles, 2 4oz/120ml Standard bottle, 2 extra Level-Two silicone nipples, 2 Storage/Travel caps and 3 “cleaning” brushes are small nipple brushes and they are INSIDE the bottles.

My son was exclusively breastfed until I had to go back to work and had to start bottle feeding. I had no experience using a bottle and wasn’t sure which ones to use. I tried a lot of other brands of bottles and all of them he seemed to swallow a lot of air which gave him terrible gas and stomach pains to the point that he would be up crying all night. A friend of mine told me I needed to try the Dr. Brown’s bottles and since using them I have noticed a very clear difference.
Dr. Brown’s bottles made it very easy to bottle feed for both my baby and I. He doesn’t have the same problem latching that he had with the other bottles and the nipples are very easy for him to use. They also have have a really slow flow, so the baby swallows less air when he’s eating which makes him have less gas and colic and it’s very clear that he is not in pain like he used to be. He has not needed to burp as much as he used to on the other bottles and his spitting up has decreased by a lot. I can see very clearly that he is a way happier baby since I started using these.

The only bad things I can say about these is they do leak a little bit if you leave them lying on their side. Since I noticed that I have been pretty careful about keeping them upright and I have not noticed any leaking while upright or feeding. There is also a lot of pieces to clean which can be a hassle until you get the hang of it. I have to use the little brush that comes with these and clean out the little attachments to make sure that they are fully sanitized. It’s a little difficult and time consuming at first but it gets easier the more you do it.

All things considered it is a really great product and if your baby is suffering from colic or gas I would definitely recommend trying these out. I am extremely happy with these bottles and they have made a huge difference with my son. I will never go back to using any other brand after seeing the difference these make in his health and happiness and I will definitely be repurchasing this product.

  1. I love these bottles. My son had bad colic and tummy aches before using the Dr Browns, now hes a happy baby who loves feeding time. I would deffinatley reccomend theses to everyone

  2. I loved these bottles. My son wasn’t a colic baby, however he spat up ALOT! These bottles seemed to really relieve that symptom. He also slept better when he drank from this bottle before bed. Easy to clean also, I cannot wait to use them with our next son.

  3. I absolutely love Dr. Browns bottles! My daughter would get horrible gas bubbles when she would have a bottle, which would result in an awful stomach ache. I tried a few different bottles and then a friend recommended the Dr. Browns bottles so I picked up two of them. There was an almost immediate difference in my daughter. The tube inside the bottle helped prevent how much air and bubbles she was sucking back in. This is the only brand we use now. The only thing I don’t like is that it takes forever to clean them with all the pieces, but I would definitely recommend these to moms with babies that have stomach issues.

  4. I recieved this set as a baby shower gift and I have recommended it to several new moms since. The set comes with stage 1 nipples for every bottle and some stage 2 nipples to get you started when it is time to move up. Also it supplies the special cleaning brushes for the inserts. There are supplies for storage like additional caps and whatnot. One thing that I have noticed is that the nipples don’t completely collapse on themselves like other nipples so my son doesn’t stop eating and get mad that the milk stopped. All in all this is a great product for any baby whether they are formula or breast fed and I would suggest that any mom at least try it because they will love it.

  5. After trying several different types of bottles with all sorts of special nipple shapes and sizes, I bought a set of the Dr. Brown’s Natural Flow Bottles. I had skipped over these “standard” looking bottles in the baby aisles and had opted for the different shaped bottles with the ridges for holding and the wider mouthed bottles that were said to be more like a real woman’s breast and nipple. My son came home after 6 weeks in the NICU and it was imperative that I find a bottle that he would latch onto and be able to feed from easily. The bottles come with brush scrubbers, which is a huge plus. Make sure you don’t miss them inside the bottle before your first wash.

Unlike other bottles that I have used before, when the cap is on the Dr. Brown’s bottles I am able to shake shake shake to mix the formula up really well and I have never had one leaking issue. Out of the ten or twelve bottles that I currently have in my feeding rotation, I have only had one of the top vent pieces warp a little, but it has in no way affected the bottle during feeding. Since I started using these bottles, my son has eaten on a schedule, and he finishes his bottles in less than ten minutes now. We are still feeding 4oz at a time, so with these 8oz capacity bottles I plan on using them for a very long time.

  6. I wanted to breastfeed my child but he just couldnt latch on , so when I decided to pump my milk for him I had to find a bottle suitable for him. I bought a few different brands , like nuk, tommy tepee , munchkin, and the dr brown bottles. He wouldn’t take the other bottles very well and it was a hassel to get it in his mouth. With the dr brown bottles he was able to latch on properly and he took to it right away. My son has acid reflux as is , so these bottles help tremendously to help keep his reflux down by pushing the air to the back of the bottle. I also like the fact you can just buy replacement nipples and they come in different sizes for as the child grows, save from having to buy all new bottles with different nipple flows.
Downside is that you have a couple more parts to clean compared to a basic bottle but I truly think it’s worth it.

  7. I am not a fan. I am a full time nurse and did not have the time to clean all the parts of these bottles. Also in did not help my son with the colic. I then tried avent and fell in love with their collection.

  8. I use the bottles with my daughter. They were the only ones to help with colic, spitup, and gas. If you leave them on the side they leak. It also is a process to make a bottle with the different parts used. One other down side is if you need replacement parts you can find them in the store and have to order online.

  9. I love the Dr Browns bottles bc they have helped to reduce the amount of air baby take in however you can not fill these bottles past a certain point, so if you have slightly over 2oz, for the preemie bottles, 4 or 8 oz for the larger bottles of breast milk that your about to feed to your baby the bottles will leak!! Which is a huge heart ache if you breast feed!! Every drop that’s wasted is a tear outta my eye… Yes these bottles do have a bit more parts to clean and keep up with but its worth it.

  10. I love the dr browns bottles. My girls had less gas from the dr browns bottles compared to other brand bottles. I just personally prefer glass bottles.

  11. I have one of these bottles. My son is 2 weeks old. The #1(1st stage) nipple seems to not give a nice flow. It takes my little man too long to get milk out of it. He got frustrated so i used a stage 2 one and it went better. He did take to it seemed to enjoy the even flow, and had less need to burb.

  12. My daughter abryanna who is 1 would only breastfeed for 3 weeks once she tried dr. Browns bottles she didn’t want to latch. She enjoyed the flow of the bottle very much and had minimal spit up. I was already back to work as a hospice nurse and this made going back to work much easier. Only wish is a better design I really enjoy the cute designs of other bottles

  13. My baby is mostly breastfed but Dr. Brown’s Natural Flow is the only bottle she would take. I had to leave her with my sister two days in a row when she was three months old. I left her with three different bottle options, one of them being the Dr. Brown’s. My sister said that was the only one she even considered and eventually took. So thankful someone got me this wonderful newborn set for my baby shower. It came with different nipple levels, different bottle sizes, caps in case you wanted to travel with the bottles, and even a brush to clean the bottles. The tube inside is supposed to reduce air intake. This is the nicest set and is a must have for all new moms.

  14. I love that it comes in pink for my girls. The bottle fits my pump and it does help a lot. The tube helps reduce air intake. It may seem hard to clean but as long as you have the small brush to clean it, you’re good. You also have an option to remove the tube when the baby is older. Honestly, I was surprised when it leaks but I learned how to avoid it. I have to close it tight and make sure that the tube is also locked tight. My baby is starting to hold her bottles now and it’s nice that this bottle is slim, she can easily hold it. Been using it for 7 years with my 3 girls and they all like the bottle. Will surely use it if ever I decided to have my 4th one.

  15. I am pregnant with my 3rd child I’m due July 8th with my first baby boy! I actually LOVE these bottle I purchased them with my first 2 girls and they are very good bottles!!

  16. These are fantastic my daughter was spitting up alot when I was using Avent but so much less with Dr. brown. I feel like using the dr. Brown mixing pitcher helps reduce the bubbles even more.

  17. My daughter is a very healthy eater. I breast feed but noticed that she wasn’t getting enough and her doctor recommended supplementing formula. I was concerned that introducing her to a bottle would affect breastfeeding but these bottles have been amazing. The transition between breastfeeding and bottle feeding has been seamless thanks to the Dr. Brown’s bottles. They are great for travel, plus they’re easy enough for my husband to use so I can take a little time to myself! Cleaning all of the parts are a headache but it is a small price to pay for my healthy happy baby.

  18. I loved Dr Brown bottles with my son! He had horrible colic and nothing seemed to work until I found these! Best bottle I’ve ever used! I highly recommend them for any new mom! Or a mom looking for an amazing bottle!

  19. Dr. Brown’s bottles are the only bottles my daughter would use as a baby. They are great, easy to use, easy for my daughter to hold them, and easy to clean. My daughter never spit up with them and she adjusted very well to the bottle. I highly recommend Dr. Brown’s bottles for any new mom.

  20. I loved using these bottles with my first son! He had horrible gas problems and it resulted in a tummy ache, Dr. Browns bottles helped my son tremendously! I also recommended them to my sister in law for my niece and she loved them as well.

  21. I’m in love with this bottles my baby is a preemi she was vomiting a lot I try everything and nothing works for her I went to the doctors and they didn’t Do nothing for her so I decide to use the dr. Brown’s bottle with the enfamil gentle and the next day she stop know my baby is perfect and eating a lot thanks!!!

  22. Dr. Brown bottles is the best bottles we ever tried for our baby. It’s very effective especially for premature babies. At first my baby had a hard time drinking her milk with other bottles but when I tried dr. Brown bottles she can drink perfectly. I recommend this very much.

  23. I have these bottles and use them daily. My baby was in the NICU for a long time and got used to the texture of Gerber nipples but the bottles made her very gassy. So we switched to Dr Browns, they have a similar shaped nipple a d she loves them, therefore I love them. Way less gas and that makes everyone happy!

  24. Initially, I planned on exclusively breastfeeding before I had my son. After he was born, we had such a hard time with him feeding, he would hardly latch without a nipple shield, if he did it was never for long. If I used nipple shields, they made a huge mess. About two weeks in, I started bottle feeding in the middle of the night when he was the most fussy; then gradually just started pumping and bottle feeding 100% of the time.

I’ve tried SO many different bottles for my little man because he is super gassy and was VERY picky. I tried the medela calma nipple, the regular wide neck nipple that comes with their bottles, Avent natural, munchkin latch, born free breeze, and now Dr. Browns. He absolutely loves these!

Like I said, he is super gassy and would be so fussy during and after he bottle fed. I also had issues with other bottles leaking in between the nipple and the plastic neck of the bottle. These have been such a life saver.
I never experience leaks with these bottles. The flow is actually slow so they can eat their own pace. They also help with spit up SO much! Sometimes, he would projectile vomit everything I had fed him with other bottles. I’ve never had that happen with these once.

The only down fall to these bottles is that they do have a lot of parts to them. They have the nipple, which is detachable from the plastic neck, the colic valve and the rubber insert it goes into, and the bottle itself. So you’re essentially washing five different items every time you wash one bottle.
However, for me, it’s a small price to pay for a happy baby. We’ve seen a world of different after using these, he’s so much more content after eating and doesn’t seem absolutely miserable anymore.

One of the best things about these is the PRICE! Compared to other bottles out there, I’ve found them to be much cheaper depending on which ones you’re comparing to.
I was loaned four of the 4 oz bottles from a neighbor, but since my son is almost 7 weeks and starting to eat more, I just bought four of the 3-pack 8 oz bottles off Amazon. Such a good buy!

If you have a gassy, colicky, or reflux baby, these are worth a try! They seriously helped us out so much.

  25. I got this set for my first baby because I didn’t have much breast milk, I was scared of colic because as a first time mother you always hear all those comments.
It turns out that the Dr BRowns bottles are the best.. cause of the little valve inside my baby did not had any problem! Thanks DR Browns!

  26. We decided to try out Dr. Browns bottles when my son was about 8 weeks old as recommended by a paediatric nutritionist. He would suffer from the worst gas which would make him upset and keep him awake for hours. He would also fight through most of his feedings. The first time we tried these bottles I noticed right away there was absolutely no vacuum pressure while eating. It was silent! My son seemed to like these right away and although it did not eliminate the need to burp or eliminate his gas entirely they have certainly helped! He is now 13 weeks old and we still love these bottles. Highly recommend to anyone who plans to bottle feed!

  27. When my son was first born I had a hard time breast feeding and had to pump and feed by bottle for the first 3 months. Both the midwife and breastfeeding clinic told me only use these bottles. I also notice that this seems to be the only bottle anyone else I know uses so I know they have to be good. i notice a big difference once we switched to the dr Browns, my son had way less gas. These are the only bottles we use. We eventually upgraded to the 8 oz bottles and the level 3 nipples. The best bottles by far.
