Fisher-Price Rainforest Melodies and Lights Deluxe Gym

Learning about the magical world of the rainforest is so much fun in a rainforest melodies and lights deluxe gym with music, lights, nature sounds, and lots of activities and textures to stimulate your growing baby. The activity gym’s comfy floor quilt has a soft silky border and colorful arches supported by a friendly giraffe. A variety of links let you attach toys up above or down below. Rain forest friends are everywhere baby looks. There’s a soft monkey, jingly toucan, elephant and parrot with spinning paddle. Movable and stationary activity toys encourage baby to explore the overhead gym or enjoy some tummy time play. Baby can also enjoy a spinner with rattling beads, spinning butterflies, a shiny mirror and a crinkly leaf for peek a boo fun. With this activity gym you can choose four fun tunes or rain forest sounds to play for baby for up to 20 minutes. Activity gym requires three C (LR14) alkaline batteries.

I bought this rainforest melodies and lights deluxe gym when my son started becoming more interested in playing. I liked the fact that it had so many colors or textures to stimulate his brain and he loves to reach up and try to grab the animals that are hanging. The music keeps him entertained and continues to play for a long time as well which is great if I need to get something done. My son likes the detachable monkey and he tries to stick it in his mouth every time he gets a hold of it. I think that his favorite part of the whole gym is the mirror though. He is fascinated by his own face and will giggle and talk to himself.

The mat is great for tummy time as well because it has a lot of colors and fun designs for the baby to look at. The textures on the mat are also fun because some of it is crinkly and some of it is just a soft quilted material. It has enough padding in it that it’s comfortable to lay on for long periods at a time. I also like that it comes with a sealable plastic bag so that the gym can be easily disassembled and stored away.

I wish that it was a little bit more sturdy. Because it tends to bunch up in the middle if the baby isn’t lying on it. It isn’t so unstable that it will collapse or fall on him but it would be nice if it had a little more structural integrity. I also wish that the butterflies were lower down or that they moved on their own. That is one of my son’s favorite parts of the gym and he constantly wants me to move them and make them spin.

Other than those things I have no complaints about this play gym. I think that it is a really fun, colorful option for gyms on the market today and I will continue to use it until my son loses interest in it. I will also store it away and use it again in the future whether that’s for children or grandchildren. I highly recommend this rainforest melodies and lights deluxe gym to all parents. It’s a great tool to help with your baby’s brain development.

  1. My daughter started to use this when she was 3 months. This is where I put her for tummy time and for keeping her eyes busy while laying down. This helps her with her grip as she starts to pull the soft toys that are hanging and this is where she learned to rollover. The only thing is when she learned to rollover, she also learned to pull herself and she gets out of the gym so I don’t know if I can still keep her on this playmat and she’s only 4 months old.

  2. I chose this playmate because of the bright colors and different hanging toys! My daughter loves it and likes to grab for the toys and look at the lights! The mat is from a very smooth slick fabric and easy to clean, just wipe it off! On the downside it doesn’t soak up any fluids; my baby is a happy spitter so her hair and clothes are always soaked when laying on this mat. I like that it plays music to go along with the lights but I wish it would have more than 1 melody. And I wish the top would spin like a mobile. The butterflies spin, just not automatically but they are great to get my babies attention! Overall I and more importantly my baby really like it! 🙂
