Go Natural With Philips AVENT Natural Glass Bottle

Philips Avent SCF671/37 Natural 4 Ounce Glass Bottle is the most natural way to bottle feed. The wide, breast-shaped nipple promotes natural latch-on so you can easily combine breastfeeding and bottle feeding, and the unique comfort petals provide an extra soft, flexible nipple without nipple collapse. In addition, the anti-colic newborn-flow nipple releases air back into the bottle rather than into your baby’s tummy to help newborns feed comfortably and easily. The ergonomic shape makes it comfortable for parents to hold and easy for small fingers to grasp. Assembly is simple, with only a few parts, and the wide bottle neck makes filling and cleaning easy. This Natural Philips Avent bottle is made of premium quality borosilicate glass, a BPA free material, and is printed using organic ink and made from only virgin raw materials, to ensure the highest quality for ultimate purity. It is heat and thermal shock resistant, so it can be safely stored in the fridge, warmed and is easy to wash and sterilize. Works with all nipples and caps from the Natural line. To prevent leaks, check to make sure the plastic screw ring has not been over-tightened on the bottle. The bottle is screwed tight enough when you feel some resistance when attaching the screw ring to the bottle. At that point, please stop. Over tightening the screw ring may lead to damage.

Chemical-free bottles

The number one selling point for me on these was the fact that I could rest assured that I was giving my daughter the best bottle possible. Because this bottle is plastic and not glass it means that there are no chemicals or BPAs getting into my daughter’s milk and eventually her mouth. I don’t have to worry that when I am heating the bottle I am releasing chemicals into the milk or anything of that sort. In this day and age having that sort of confidence is hard. I also love that it is made of glass for the simple reason that it is easier to clean than plastic and I feel like it comes cleaner when I sterilize them.

Great features in this Natural Glass Bottle

I love that the neck of these bottles is so wide because it makes it easier to pour milk into this bottle as well as making it easier to clean this bottle. I love that the glass part is all in one cohesive piece instead of being a bunch of little parts that need to be assembled and disassembled constantly. Another great feature to mention is the venting system. Before switching to these bottles we were using a competitor brand that claimed to have the best venting system and reduce discomfort during and after feedings. This had been proven wrong and I was starting to think that it was just my daughter who had an extraordinarily sensitive stomach. After switching to these I noticed a drastic change in my baby’s demeanor during and after a feeding and I have to say that I am very impressed. She is definitely not swallowing as much air as she was before.

A couple of downfalls with these bottles

Although I can’t deny how much I thoroughly enjoy using these bottles they do have cons to them. One of these being that if I screw on the lid too tight I will not be able to remove it and will end up having to have my husband do it. This is due to the fact that these are glass and not plastic so I don’t see a logical way that this issue could be fixed without damaging the integrity but I would just urge you to be cautious of how tight you are putting the lid on. Another thing that is not as good as a plastic bottle is just that it is in general heavier. I hold it for my daughter because she is still young and I can definitely feel the weight of it in my hand and I can’t imagine that she will be able to hold it up any time soon. Again I am not sure how this could possibly be remedied but it is something that you should keep in mind.

Another great product from Phillips AVENT

I am very pleased with this product and the downfalls I mentioned above are small in comparison to all the good things that I have found with these bottles. I love almost everything about these bottles from the ease of cleaning to the peace of mind. They are obviously going to break if dropped from a height because they are made of glass but if you take care of them and be cautious as I have they should last you a very long time. I am never going back to using plastic bottles after being spoiled by these glass ones. I highly recommend these bottles.

  1. I decided to give these bottles a try. I discovered glass bottles with our second kids. Fell in love however all of my bottles were 8oz. Not really handy with a newborn. After looking at several different kinds I decided to try these Avent Natural Care Glass Bottles. They are simply wonderful. Glass is so easy to care for and they do not get the pesky stains that plastic can get over time. Another great bonus is that there is no chance of BPA’s. The glass is heavy enough to withstand falls to the floor, but light enough to be convenient. The natural care nipple is very similar to Mom’s nipple making it easy to switch back and forth between bottle and breast. I was concerned at first that the oz markings would wear off. They did not, after many sterilizations and washes they are still look great. I give them 2 thumbs up. We love our Avent Natural Care Glass Bottles.
